This model is a desirable second generation case model. Later models got thinner and thinner but this is the second Swiss made version and has more presence on the wrist than later versions. It is also a pre-Tag model which is very desirable too. Almost anything with just a Heuer-only logo is continuing to appreciate in value.There is a lovely creamy patina to the hands. The dial is amazing as are the hands and the pvd coating.This is an nice vintage example of a 980.026 Tag Heuer 1000 and if you don't feel satisfied with the condition feel free to return it for a 100% refund.Model number 980.026L38mm WITHOUT crown and crown guards40mm with crownThis is a hard watch to photograph. The reflections make it difficult to gauge the condition of the plating. Additional pictures are available upon request. The coating on the case is in excellent condition and only very minor wear on the bracelet. The clasp is very nice as well.
Case:1. The watch case and its plating are in excellent condition for its age with no chipping or wear-through.2. The crystal is brand new and scratch free. It has been upgraded to sapphire which is almost impossible to scratch. The only thing harder than sapphire is a diamond. Almost all new high end Swiss watches have this substantial upgrade.3. The bezel insert is in excellent condition especially when considering the age. The bezel rotates counterclockwise and is very useful for timing events.4. ALL GASKETS have been replaced in the last year (crystal, crown, and case back). This watch is from my personal collection and I'm only selling it to find another watch purchase.5. The battery has been replaced with a new Swiss made Renata battery which should be good for 2+ years.6. The crown is a screw down crown and functions perfectly. This style is much preferred due to its water resistance. There is wear on the crown's pvd coating but these can be found on eBay from time to time if you desire to get a replacement.7. The movement on this example is the later and much more reliable 955.112 movement. These are relatively maintenance-free and are still available should you need one in the future.
Bracelet:The jubilee bracelet is original and is in very good condition. It has very minor plating wear but still shows very very well.
